Turn an animal into a repeating mosaic pattern with geometry lessons around tessellations!
Did you know that animals could tessellate? These animal shapes have unique geometries that allow them to repeat in pattern. Challenge students to create patterns out of cats, goats, or birds by rearranging the shapes to fit together like a puzzle. Through hands-on exploration, students learn what types of shapes tessellate and be able to apply that knowledge to other shapes found throughout the classroom like bricks on walls or tiles on floors.
Lesson direction is adaptable for grades K-4 and 5-8. Set includes 36 TessellationTiles (9 Cat Tiles, 12 Goat Tiles, and 15 Bird Tiles) and lesson direction. Recommended for Elementary and up.
