Through trial and error, students collaborate in small groups to launch beanbags in different sizes and test variables. With each stomp on the beanbag launcher, they observe the trajectory of the beanbag and record the height and distance it traveled using a yardstick. Students continue their experiment using beanbags in different weights to observe how adjusting variables affects results. As they learn about force, students also sharpen their observation and data recording skills during each projectile motion experiment. Add in an extra challenge by having them knock over objects such as bowling pins or buckets. They can also attempt to land the beanbag on a target to test their precision and accuracy.

Polypropylene plastic launcher is durable and lightweight, making it easy to move it where needed. Durable polyester-covered beanbags range from 4” sq (50 g) to 6” sq (1,000 g), allowing students to witness how size and weight impact each launch. Individual Kit includes 1 launcher (24-1/2”L x 3-1/4”W x 2-1/4”H; 1 lb), 5 weighted beanbags, 1 yardstick, and lesson direction. Class Set includes 4 Individual Kits.
