MatterMotion Set

Begin lessons about states of matter for kids by reviewing how they change through freezing, melting, evaporation, and condensation. Then, it's time to get in motion! Divide students into two groups. To begin the states of matter lessons, the teacher randomly selects a card from the deck and shows it to the groups. Students need to identify it as a liquid, gas, or solid and then act how they believe the particles move. Solids move slowly and close together, liquids move at a medium speed and slightly farther apart, while gases move quickly and farthest apart.

Deck includes 30 objects students need to emulate and a 1 teacher card with lesson directions. The included lesson direction details setup instructions, activities by grade level, learning objectives, and teaching suggestions to expand lessons. Set includes cards (Set of 31), two 12"H vinyl cones (1 ea blue, green), a flip-top container for card storage. Recommended for Elementary and up.
