MathemActive Perfect Square Game
Blindfolded students depend on clear verbal communication and reliable spatial reasoning as they work together to create shapes!
Promote teamwork, problem solving, and collaboration while working on communication skills during a trust-building activity! Blindfolded students rely on clear communication as they talk with each other while creating a shape. Two other students serve as the eyes of the groups by taking notes and warning others if safety becomes a concern. The activity ends when students believe they created a perfect shape and place it on the ground. Students remove their blindfolds and assess the shape they created. Students can also compete in small teams to see who can create a specific shape the fastest. Teachers can also get directors more involved by having them direct the blindfolded students on where to move to create the shape. They can also create interactive geometry projects by creating other shapes.
