Let's Build Electromagnets Kits
Young engineers conduct experiments to determine the effects of combining magnetic fields and electrical charges!
Students develop critical-thinking skills as they see firsthand how an electric current creates a magnetic field, and how it disappears when the electricity is turned off. As students build their electromagnets, they compare core materials and thickness. They also determine the number of wraps a coil needs for an effective magnet during four interactive projects. Teacher’s manual includes lesson plans, background information, and reproducible student worksheets. Individual Set is ideal for a small group project, while the Class Set includes supplies for up to 24 students and 6 projects. Recommended for Upper Elementary and up.
