Horizontal Winds Turbine Kits
Witness wind energy in motion after building horizontal wind turbines!
Using the recycled plastic parts provided, students collaborate to build a horizontal wind turbine. When construction is complete, groups perform energy activities to see how a turbine can convert wind energy into stored energy that can be later used to power various real-world devices. Students see tangible proof of wind energy as they make their turbines power an LED and piezo buzzer or measure its output on a multimeter.
Basic Kit includes all parts needed to build a fully functioning vertical wind turbine. Deluxe Kit includes everything in the Basic Set, plus additional components and learnings. Accommodates 4 students. Recommended for Elementary and up.
