Heat Transfer STEM Expedition Kit
Students start to think like thermal engineers as they explore conduction, convection, and radiation through heat transfer kits.
Conduct heat transfer experiments to design real-world devices. Students apply acquired knowledge in two class challenges in which they design, build, and test an Ice Preserver and a Solar Oven. Lesson directions guide students and teachers through approximately 2 hours of experimentation, as well as several building hours and a test day for each of the two building challenges.
The included instructor manual details extensive background information for teaching lessons, assessment worksheets, problem sets, a rubric, and extension activities to facilitate and support learning. Curriculum guides students through activities investigating the modes of heat transfer. Accommodates 24 students. Recommended for Middle and High School.
