CreateKit Cell Phone Speaker Kit
Pump up the volume on a cell phone by conceptualizing, sketching, and building a speaker system!
Start by giving each group of students a set amount of time to brainstorm and draw their speaker system. They can use the provided materials in any manner they choose to create a design that amplifies the sound from a cell phone the most. Using the Engineering Design Process, the teacher works with the group to work through and determine solutions to any problems they may have with their sound system. Students then demonstrate to the teacher how it amplifies the sound. They can then build speakers for other objects in the room such as a tablet or instrument. Ideal for up to 30 students working in groups of 6. Recommended for Middle School and up.
