CodingCourse Set
Teach tangible lessons in programming as students create and act out code on physical grids!
Students collaborate to code their way across the grids, attempting to dodge any “bugs" in their way. They'll relate hands-on coding experience to real life interactions with technology and learn to solve problems through trial and error as they puzzle their way around the pesky poly spot bugs.
To begin, split the students into a coding team and program team and assign each to a grid. The program team places the four bugs (ladybug, bee, beetle, and stink bug) in random cells of their grid before the coding team attempts to guide someone through the maze while evading the insect obstacles. The program team simulates the code like a living program, calling out if stalled by a bug, while the coding team walks their code to follow along.
Got a bug in your code? No problem! Students think critically to correct their code for more success in future trials. Perfect for small groups, the kit accommodates up to 12 students. Recommended for Elementary and up.
The included lesson direction details setup instructions, activities by grade level, learning objectives, and teaching suggestions to expand lessons.
