Analysis of Fingerprints Kits
Collaborate in small groups to dust and lift classmates' fingerprints using authentic methods! Each group prepares a set of fingerprint evidence for another group to analyze using standards developed by the FBI and the included Modus Operandi worksheet to identify the suspect! Groups will explore and compare techniques involving carbon, aluminum, iodine, amino acids, lipids, and more. Experiential investigations require 3 hours to complete. Step-by-step instructions direct hands-on investigations and offer training methods for identifying latent and direct prints. Individual Kit includes full-color instructor's manual, reproducible student worksheets, aluminum powder, carbon powder, acetone, fingerprint brushes, and other experiment materials for 1 group of 4 students.
