Discover how changing the location of a light source or adjusting its distance with an object affects the size of shadows!
What makes a shadow? How does the shadow’s length or angle change? Those are the questions students will work to answer while conducting a series of shadow experiments. They compare how two objects of the same height can have shadows in different lengths depending on their location from the flashlight. They can also experiment with objects of different sizes to see if they can have shadows in similar lengths according to their placement. Included lesson direction highlights experiments to get activities started for grades K-4 and 5-8. Set includes 1 flashlight, 1 vinyl floor grid, 1 vinyl wall grid, 6 silhouette shapes, and lesson direction. Recommended for Elementary and up.
