Outdoor Balance Scale

Students use the balancing scale to analyze the weight of beanbags and everyday objects while discovering core physics concepts like force, gravity, and equilibrium. Place beanbags between the 2 buckets, or compare beanbags with various objects found outdoors or in the classroom, to balance the scale. The clear buckets allow learners to visually assess contents on each side. Students can also reposition the buckets along the beam's multiple notches to introduce variables like torque and leverage for inquiry-based learning.

Crafted from durable eucalyptus wood, the scale is built to withstand outdoor conditions for year-round experimentation. Its large size encourages collaboration, allowing up to 6 students to engage in weight comparisons and problem-solving together.
