The KAI Artificial Intelligence Robot Kit introduces students to artificial intelligence through hands-on robotics and machine learning. This interactive STEM activity helps learners explore how AI systems recognize patterns, interpret data, and trigger automated actions. By combining robotics, machine learning, and app-based programming, KAI helps students see how artificial intelligence powers many of the technologies used in modern careers.

Explore Artificial Intelligence Through Machine Learning

After using more than 100 pieces to build their robot, students train KAI using a smart device with a camera and microphone to capture physical gestures and sound commands. Using the app's training screen, they assign recorded data to 5 robot functions: walk forward, walk backward, turn left, turn right, and stop. The system analyzes this data and creates an AI model that recognizes patterns in the recorded gestures and sounds.

Test AI Models in Real Time

After training the AI model, students activate play mode to test their results. Performing the same gestures or sounds triggers the robot to carry out the assigned actions. This process introduces students to real-world machine learning concepts such as training data, pattern recognition, and model testing.

Interactive Robotics with Custom Programming

KAI's six-legged robotic design includes a body that rotates 360 degrees, allowing the robot to move and turn in any direction. Its face features 25 programmable LEDs that students can customize to display expressions, symbols, or messages. Students can also manually control the robot through the app, adding another layer of experimentation and exploration.
