FractionFacts Poly Bars

Poly bars help in accurately representing fractions. A long piece (18”L) symbolizes a whole, while the smaller pieces denote various fractions, allowing students to easily visualize how two halves or one half combined with two fourths can create a whole. The use of different colors for each fraction size enables students to quickly compare their values. The flexible and durable polyvinyl pieces (3”W x 1/4” thick) are easy to handle.

The included lesson direction details setup instructions, activities by grade level, learning objectives, and teaching suggestions to expand lessons. Adaptable for grades K-3 and 4-6.

Use wet erase markers on the mat to write fractions, demonstrate calculations, and illustrate fractions on a number line. Be sure to let the markers dry completely to prevent smudging. Mat is 30"L x 40"W; 3 lb.
