Become detectives, analyze the evidence like fingerprints and hair, and catch the thief following investigations!

What can fingerprints and hair, blood, and fiber evidence tell real-world detectives about a crime scene? Your students head to the mall to find out! When merchandise goes missing, they work in small groups to solve the crime. They'll learn to apply the scientific process to everyday problems as they scrutinize suspect profiles and interpret circumstantial evidence through observation, deductive reasoning, and hands-on experimentation. When they think they've cracked the case, they question their chosen suspect while considering "official" police evidence. Allow at least 2 hours of lab time to complete investigations. Kit includes instructor's manual, reproducible student worksheets, and experiment materials for 24 students working in groups of 4. Full contents list below. Microscope, water bath, distilled water, and glass test tubes with stoppers required, not included. Recommended for Elementary to Lower Middle School.
