Checkers is fun to play as its own standalone strategy game; however, it's also great to incorporate into other activities as well. By pairing traditional learning with this classic game, you'll create a positive association between working and playing!
How to Play
Each player begins the game with 12 checkers, placed on alternating squares in the 3 rows closest to him or her. The object of the game is to capture all of your opponent's checkers or position your pieces so that your opponent has no available moves. Capture pieces by jumping your piece over an opponent's to land on a blank square on the opposite side. Basic movement is to move a checker one space diagonally forward. If a piece reaches the opposite end of the board, it becomes a “king." Kings can move in any direction and can jump pieces in any direction.
Game includes a 15" x 15" game board and 24 checkers. Accommodates 2 students. Recommends for ages 6 and up.
